At the International School of Almere we offer quality IB programmes in a safe and sustainable environment. We inspire our students to reach their full potential and through them contribute to a better and more peaceful world by striving for academic excellence, intercultural awareness and mutual respect. We believe in holistic learning, focusing on developing core values such as celebrating diversity, service learning, and a professional culture.
Our mission
It is the mission of the International School Almere to inspire our students to reach their full potential and through them contribute to a better and more peaceful world by striving for academic excellence, intercultural awareness and mutual respect. To do so, we offer our students a challenging, comprehensive education within a diverse, caring and encouraging community of learners, enabling them to develop the intellectual and social skills necessary to achieve their full potential.
Diversity is essential to our mission. According to the principles stated in the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, people of all races, nations and religions should respect and honour each other. We teach our students to understand and respect the views, values and traditions of other individuals and cultures, as well as their own. The school’s commitment to academic excellence is matched by a belief in holistic learning. All members of the school community are encourage3d to pursue excellence and are recognized for their achievements.
New building and school year 2023/2024
Parents and students are understandably very curious about the new building. We are currently preparing the welcoming week and the official opening of the new building. More information will follow soon in a separate letter together with the calendar for next year.
The first week will be all about getting to know the building and joining together with the whole community to celebrate the fact that we are now actually in this beautiful new building and entering into a fantastic partnership with the Primary School. The final touches are now being made to the shared vision and mission of our schools. Next to this, it is important to reassess our manners now that we are under the same roof with students aged 4 to 18. This, too, will require the necessary attention. To be continued!
